Who should attend?
This particular event is designed with a unique focus for community-based and non-profit organizations who would like to expand their mixed-methods research skills. Students and trainees, members of government, social work, public health, and other organizations are welcome to attend as well.
What content is covered in the course?
This institute covers the following content areas:
· Introduction to qualitative research
· How qualitative research can be used to support your organizations work
· Study design and mixed-methods approaches
· Developing an interview guide
· Data collection workshop
· Ways to analyze your data, including an intro to the qualitative software Dedoose
· Disseminating and communicating your work
· Hear from CBO leaders on how they use qualitative research in their organizations
· How to utilize mixed-methods skills in your own organization
What is the cost of the course?
The cost of the full 2-day course is $400 dollars. Student discounts are available with proof of student status.
What is needed to take the course?
The desire to learn mixed-methods research methodologies and a laptop. Attendees will be using the 30 day free trial of Dedoose for the hands-on portion of the institute.

What is the format for the course?
The course is interactive and held in-person only. The course will feature several workshop sessions that allow learners to practice new skills as they acquire them. Learners will also hear from non-profit leaders based in Philadelphia, about how they are using mixed-methods research methodologies in their organization. The course will also include a breakout-session where learners will get to discuss how they plan on utilizing the skills taught in the course back to their organizations to meet their own learning and research goals.
